Case #003
Innovating with Design Sprint
CASESTUDY - Lightify
Backstory
Our company was looking for a pivot opportunity and therefore I had the opportunity to work on a 1-month sprint with the end goal of pitching to investors.
Agile Design
With the short timeframe we decided to treat every stage of this upcoming and still unknown product as a design sprints. This was apparent in our idea generating phase, Research phase, our brand building phase, testing and MVP building phase as well as our preperations for the actual pitch. Some of the phases had to overlap but the deadlines where more or less 5-days as a traditional sprint.

This case shows my attempts to visually convey the product in a appealing way aswell as visually explaining the concept of the product.
A IoT solution to reduces consumtion on lights.
Process and case:
What is the purpose of the product?
To reduce waisted power in large buildings like offices and public spaces. by use existing smart bulb technologies combined with our unique AI algorithm.
What is the solution/final product?
After 4 weeks we ended up with was a MVP of a system that automatically dims light according to indirect light from outside, this means no power on light wasted.
The system includes off the shelves Smart Lights, a Central PC with our Software, Light sensors, and an app for controlling settings and setup.
Lets make this presentable:
After long brainstorm sessions on the idea, usertesting and sparring we nailed down the product and technical specifications with our engineers and potential users.
It was now time for me to make the product more presentable.
Creating a toolbox:
The choice of color was based on associations with green energy, plants and nature.
I chose some washed out colors to signal a more calm and modern look, without being neither to bold or pastele.
The icon was based on a lightbulb to emphasize the main purpose of the product. To make a green solution, that involves lightbulbs.
Lightbulb + Leaf = Green energi.
Clear explanation:
The idea wasn’t excactly easy to convey. I wanted the presentation to include less words and more visual examples, so the receiver whould understand the technicalities as fast as possible.
Below is some examples of material made for explanation of the system.
